A simple version history for property files
Stop renaming PDFs. Keep the current lease, insurance and house file on the property, with access that stays scoped.
One current file
The lease that is current should be obvious. Older versions stay attached, not scattered across mail and a desktop folder called lease-final-v7.
Access is part of the file
Owner-only and tenant-shared are different acts. Insurance binders are not house rules. If a tenant can open it, you meant them to.
Open it from the record
A document that cannot be opened from the lease, invoice or repair it belongs to will be asked for again. That is the pile coming back.
