Reconcile a loan balance

Compare, do not overwrite

Line up dates. A missing payment or a swapped interest/principal split is the usual cause.

Fix the line, then the balance

Correct the payment that is wrong. The remaining balance should follow. If you type a new balance with no story, you will do this again next month.

Still stuck

Leave the exception visible and continue the weekly rhythm. An unexplained overwrite is how the file goes quiet and wrong.
